If you are a bride that is environmentally conscious or want a flower that’s not in season for your wedding day, wood flowers may be the best option for you.

I have had two brides over the past 2-3 years invest in wood flower bridal bouquets. And they turned out gorgeous! I seriously had to do a double take when I first saw Diana’s bouquet!

When Diana got married three years ago, wooden flowers weren’t really a trend yet. She bought the flowers (plain white) off Etsy (sorry I don’t have the link) and then water-colored them herself! WOW! She said she wanted to flowers for the bridal bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets to match PERFECTLY. It took months, but the results were amazing. See for yourself!

So why wooden flowers?

According to Pine and Petal, a local wood flower shop in Central Florida, wooden flowers are budget friendly, eco-friendly, and long lasting.  The flowers are similarly priced to many wedding floral and bouquets, but you won’t need to worry about tossing money in the trash after you celebrate.

 The flowers are made from biodegradable materials. The wood used is similar to a balsa wood and comes from the tapioca plant. The best thing about this plant is that it can be re-harvested over and over. 

What is game changer for most brides is that you don’t have to wait to get married during the right season that your wedding flowers bloom. If you want peonies in the fall versus that their actual bloom time of spring/summer, then wooden flowers could the best way to go!

Perhaps you want a specific color pink in your flowers? Places like Pine and Petal, can match the SPECIFIC color of your wedding to your flowers if need be.

What about the men? Well, they can also use wood wedding flowers! Boutonnieres can be made from wood wedding flowers for the groom, groomsmen and/or ring bearer!

Now, I will never say to replace real flowers throughout your wedding for wooden flowers. there is something about the touch and smell of real flowers in a room that you can never replace. However, if you are the kind of girl that wants to keep the perfect memento for all of time, then do it!
