Okay! Is it just me, but are you over hearing the words “Coronavirus” , “Quarantine” or “Social Distancing”?
As wedding planner in this industry, my main concern are my couples and all the couples out there dealing with this. Now, I am in full support of whatever we need to do to make sure we stay safe and healthy. Changing, postponing weddings and cancelling events. But it is hard. All of the planning, all of the family and friends that were supposed to come together are now “socially distancing” themselves. It’s hard. Period. It’s stressful. Period.
During this time, my main objective is to ensure my clients and ALL couples out there that I HAVE YOUR BACK! Live Love Laugh Events is here to stay and help ANY way we can! I’ve compiled a few things for couples during this time.
Postpone don’t cancel. The event industry and small businesses are suffering immensely during this time. If you cancel you’re talking about losing thousands and thousands of dollars from retainers and payments made to the vendors. If you postpone you can try to hold on to most of that money.
So let’s find ways to communicate to your guests about your wedding being postponed. Here are some links to amazing postponement announcements options provided by these awesome vendors:
Every Last Detail: They teamed up with wedding professionals to create a few email templates to help you find the right words to say when it comes to dealing with a Coronavirus wedding postponement.
Paper Goat Post: A local Winter Park business here to provide free digital graphics with whatever wording + in whatever style you’d like to make communicating your change in plans to your guest list a little easier.
First, you shouldn’t be doing this alone. This is why wedding planners like me exist. Not just to help our current clients, but all couples that are out there. Why would you need one? Well, using my clients as an example: I’ve contacted each vendor to communicate the desires of my clients either that is postponing/rescheduling or cancelling all together. Planners can review contracts and ask for new ones to be created. We can communicate to yours guests the new date or change of plans that have been made. We can be your sounding board to talk endlessly to or pillows to catch the tears of frustration of sadness. If you want to help, please contact us! Contact us here!

I get it! A wedding is supposed to be a celebration of two people dedicating themselves to each other. If that is the focus, then I completely understand why you don’t want to wait! But we have a 10 person or less minimum mandate in place. Have you considered planning an intimate ceremony and then a big reception later? We can help plan that too for you. We are working on compiling a list of venues that are providing this service for you. We don’t know how long this season will last, but it doesn’t mean you have to wait to get married either!
You can your part in helping the event industry stay alive. Not only its been best for everyone involved to postpone or reschedule your event instead of cancel, but you can still support your vendors in many ways.
1. Leave a review for each of your vendors before the wedding talking about what you love about them and why you chose them for your wedding day.
2. Refer your vendors to your colleagues and friends. Future events helps sustain the industry.
3. Social sharing! Go on you vendor’s Facebook or Instagram, pick your favorite post and share it with your followers on your stories!
We cannot predict the extent of damage that CoVid19 will bring. However, no matter what happens I am here to help you. To my clients, my future couples and my fellow business owners we are all in this together!
(“Hey Alexa: Cue High School Musical: We’re all in this together!” :D)
