We already established that our definition of a Microwedding is an intimate celebration of 10-50 guests-often immediate family and really close friends and has a shorter and more simplistic timeline. If you choose to have your intimate celebration in your parents backyard or at an event venue, we compiled a few tips to help you plan your micro wedding!

1.Choose wisely.

• This will be the hardest part. I know! You want to invite everyone you know to witness your amazing love. However, the whole premise of a micro-wedding is to celebrate that moment with just your closest families members and friends. Measure how you choose your guest based on the fact you’ll be able to prioritize quality time with your loved ones at your event. Think less is totally more.

2. Hire a wedding planner.

• Planning a micro wedding consists of lots of details and leg work-probably more than you expect. A smaller wedding doesn’t always mean less or stress-free planning. A wedding planner can help you book the best vendors that you need to create the perfect wedding. You won’t have a room of 150 guests as a distraction to cover noticeable mishaps or details that are out of place. The same rule applies as for a traditional wedding: you should be relaxed and enjoying your wedding day. Hire a wedding planner to help make sure that happens. Still don’t it’s necessary?   3. Think outside of the box

• Micro weddings still have the same elements as a traditional big wedding. You’ll still need the basics: venue, music, food. However with less people, less opinions and more range in your budget, you can now add those details to enhance the evening and create the exact vibe you were searching for. For example, instead of a sit down 3- course meal, how about a pizza station instead?

4. Hire a photographer—and a videographer.

• No matter how small your wedding is you should most definitely hire a photographer! You want to document this day, regardless. Especially with the time and energy you dedicated to the smallest of details you want to make sure that it is all captured. I recommend to take it further: hire a videographer too. As a local wedding planner I know always says, a photo captures the smile, but video captures why you were smiling!

5. Make it meaningful

• This tip applies to the couple as well as their guests. Try to include sentimental details, like having your dogs walk down the aisle with you or hire a live artist to paint your wedding ceremony as it happens. For your guests, you can create personal picture place cards at each place setting. Since you’ve gone through the trouble of choosing this select group to help you celebrate, you’re guaranteed to have a super-close connection to every guest, making those little touches all the more meaningful.
